Sweep, sweep.

Very busy cleaning house for our first ever time hosting friends for a whole week in East Nashville! We usually miss folks when we come through, but our friends from York, England, are celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary with us! So, time to dust & sweep, make menus, and make a welcome sign for the airport!

Hanover Tavern

Moving the Big Picnic along to Hanover, Virginia, at the historic Hanover Tavern for their Virginia Heritage Music series tonight at 7. We urge you to get there early or make a reservation for the downstairs dining because last year it sold out. The space is fairly small and a dining room rather than concert-style seating. So, just a tip! See you soon! And don't forget tomorrow at the Columbia Lakefront!

Family portrait

It's been a while since I posted some sewing on my blog! So much music and music admin in these last nine months!

Finally finished this pillow portrait of my Great great grandfather John Rufe and family. Pawpaw Avery from our song The Miner's reward is the baby I believe. Made with recycled men's suit wool and tie silks.

Sticking, stamping, and wrapping up CDs for the folk DJs. Lots to do before we leave on Saturday. Home states tour starts on Monday!

Whippoorwill Fest in KY, tonight!

So excited about the Whippoorwill Festival tonight. It's probably the only festival we've ever played where you can also learn to bake bread over an open fire. They'll have a Pie auction just like in Coal Miner's Daughter, too! Thanks to Kezia Davies for the swell photo of our house concert with The Good Intentions in Liverpool (last Wednesday). Time flies! http://www.whippoorwillfest.com

Farewell Britain! We'll be back in May of 2015!

We're driving to the Heathrow Travelodge and we'll leave Britain tomorrow. What an outrageously wonderful time we've had with you over here. We can hardly believe our luck in friends. Thank you all so very much! Photo at the North Wales Bluegrass Festival by John Williams.

Three Chords & the Truth Reviews Picnic in the Sky

This fella truly gets our music! One of the best reviews of a Jeni & Billy record ever! It's all starting Dave Way, Art, Denny, Jackson, and Craig. Thank you all so much for making this record a dream. Wish you were with us in beautiful Wales!
